A Special Message from Michelle D. Young, Founder of Apex LC
I have been on a journey my whole life - an adventure, really. Always desiring to experience new things. Looking to grow and learn more about myself. Asking questions like, "Why I am here?" "What is my purpose in Life?" And all of that fun stuff. I have over 15 years of teaching and leadership experience. Highlights of my experience and training are as follows:
* Youth and Camp Counselor for World Missionary Fellowship, HCJB Radio in Quito, Ecuador.
* Resident Assistant and Program Development Coordinator at Illinois State University in Normal, IL. Graduate of Illinois State University with a Bachelor's Degree of Science.
* Landmark Education Corporation Graduate of the following programs: Forum, Advanced Course, Communication I and II, Self Expression and Leadership Training.
* Participant in Zen meditation classes and study, Member of the Zen Buddhist Temple in Chicago, IL.
* Participant in Lakota and Cherokee Sweat Lodges and Vision Quest through a variety of different organizations.
* A wide variety of Psychic Training, including classes in Meditation, Healing, Listening to Your Intuition, Shamanism, Drumming, Clairvoyant Training Program, as well as Energetic Healing and Meditation - Teacher's Training Program through a variety of different organizations.
Having been involved with a variety of organizations in leadership roles, I decided to branch out on my own in September of 2001, at that point Apex Learning Center was born. An Apex is defined as the "highest point", reaching for higher ground. Seeking greater understanding of myself and the world, inspired the name Apex Learning Center. Apex is dedicated to connecting people to resources and tools that they can use in their daily life to assist them in reaching their "highest point".
For many years I maintained both a professional career in business, while at the same time offering readings, healings and classes at Apex. In April of 2005, I left corporate America to follow my bliss and live into my highest purpose. I can't say that I have looked back at all!
I am also an Artist whose work has been shown in a variety of restaurants, galleries and clubs throughout Chicago.
Finally, my partner and I have a 2 year old daughter Eden! Eden keeps me grounded, demands that I stay in the present moment with her (because it’s all there is in her world) and finally reminds me of what’s really important in life.
